Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Kenya
Jambo na Karibu! Arriving in Nairobi, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a traditional Swahili greeting before being transferred to your boutique hotel. Spend the day at leisure and settle in for an unforgettable safari journey.
Day 2: Nairobi
After a leisurely breakfast, your group will set out to explore Nairobi’s vibrant attractions. The day’s highlight is a private visit to the renowned David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you’ll witness the heartwarming conservation efforts. Enjoy a delightful lunch at one of the city’s top eateries before returning to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
Day 3: Nairobi / Maasai Mara
Catch a flight to the Maasai Mara, Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve. Your luxurious camp, Sand River Masai Mara, sits directly along the Great Migration route, offering guests the chance to witness wildebeest and zebra crossings from the comfort of their private verandah. In the afternoon, explore the vast plains with your expert guide and take in the region’s remarkable wildlife.
Day 4: Maasai Mara
Today offers a range of game viewing activities, including an optional hot air balloon ride at dawn (additional cost). Alternatively, visit a traditional Maasai village to learn about their rich cultural heritage. After a day of adventure, unwind around the campfire, swapping safari stories with fellow travelers.
Day 5: Maasai Mara
Awake early to catch the vibrant morning light as you head out on your game drive. The Mara's wildlife is in full motion at dawn, with black-maned lions, elusive leopards, and cheetahs making their presence known. You’ll also visit the riverbanks, home to playful hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun.
Day 6: Maasai Mara / Serengeti
Fly to the Serengeti, Tanzania’s iconic “endless plains,” where the Great Migration takes center stage. Your camp, nestled in either the south or north of the park, provides unparalleled access to this extraordinary spectacle. As you arrive, enjoy a thrilling game drive in search of the massive herds of wildebeests and zebras.
Day 7: Serengeti
Start the day with an optional hot air balloon safari, soaring over the Serengeti at sunrise for breathtaking views of the endless plains below. Later, set out on morning and afternoon game drives, guided to prime locations for unforgettable wildlife encounters. Back at camp, unwind as the sounds of the Serengeti create the perfect backdrop to your evening.
Day 8: Serengeti
Spend another day on safari, enjoying morning and afternoon game drives. Your expert guide will lead you to the best wildlife viewing locations, where you can immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the Serengeti. At night, the sound of distant lions and the sights of nocturnal wildlife bring you closer to nature than ever before.
Day 9: Serengeti / Ngorongoro Crater
Fly to Lake Manyara and transfer to your elegant lodge near Ngorongoro. Spend the afternoon at leisure, taking in the serene surroundings or indulging in a spa treatment. Nestled in the lush highlands, your lodge offers a perfect retreat before tomorrow’s exploration of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife havens. Explore the crater floor, home to a dense concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and an array of plains game. Enjoy a private lunch before returning to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater / Depart
After a short flight to Arusha, relax at a dayroom in a boutique hotel where you can enjoy lunch before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
