There’s a reason Amtrak’s Coast Starlight is often described as one of America’s most beautiful train rides. Experience it for yourself on a six-day roundtrip rail journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles and on to the Grand Canyon. Once you arrive in Los Angeles, you’ll get to do some sightseeing of Hollywood’s must-see attractions. Stroll the Walk of Fame, visit the Oscar-famous Kodak Theatre, learn about the neighborhood’s hidden history, and scope out celebrities’ homes. You’ll then take Amtrak’s Southwest Chief to Williams, Arizona, before boarding the legendary Grand Canyon Railway toward the majestic South Rim of the Grand Canyon. After exploring the natural wonder, you’ll return to Los Angeles and take in the West Coast’s mountains, valleys, and Pacific Ocean en route back to San Francisco.

Day 1- Journey Begins in San Francisco
Board Amtrak's Coast Starlight for your journey south to Los Angeles. Enjoy as the beautiful California coast is revealed to you from the window of the train. Upon arriving into the city check-in to your hotel and relax before your day of sightseeing tomorrow. (Overnight in Los Angeles)
Day 2- Overnight Onboard Amtrak
Today you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hollywood. Your guided tour will bring you to such iconic sights as the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Rodeo Drive. This evening you will travel to the Amtrak station and board the train for your journey to the canyon. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)
Day 3- Williams to Grand Canyon
Welcome to Williams Junction! This morning your hearty breakfast at the Fred Harvey Restaurant is included before you board the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. Upon arriving you will enjoy a guided tour of the Canyon's South Rim. Keep your camera handy as you will take many pictures of the majestic landscape before you. (Overnight in the Grand Canyon)
Day 4- Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
Today, spend your free time basking in the great outdoors and breathing in the fresh canyon air. Enjoy a stroll around the rim, or check out the shops and restaurants in the Grand Canyon Village. (Overnight in the Grand Canyon)
Day 5- Overnight Onboard Amtrak
After a good night's sleep, board the Grand Canyon Railway back to Williams. This evening, enjoy your included dinner at the Fred Harvey Restaurant. Then travel to the station and board your train back to Los Angeles and on to San Francisco. As the train makes its way west, reflect upon you exciting trip to the Grand Canyon. Day 6- Journey Ends in San Francisco
