Additional Information

Day 1 (OCT 10, 2025): Papeete, French Polynesia

Papeete, on the island of Tahiti, is the capital of French Polynesia and is the largest island in this chain. With a population of over 136,000 inhabitants, French is the main language used in the city, followed by Tahitian. A bustling, lively city with colorful market, parks, shops and cafes, you can buy fresh fish, sarongs, vanilla beans or pearls among other delights. A waterfront promenade with music and food, and a multicultural population add to the city’s allure. Papeete, meaning “water basket” was once the place where Tahitians came to collect fresh water. With the capital situated on the coast, this means most of the island’s inhabitants are also residing near the shore. The interior of Tahiti is mountainous and rugged with cascading waterfalls, caves and lush foliage.

Day 2 (OCT 11, 2025): Anaa, French Polynesia

Anaa is a small atoll in the Tuamotu Islands of French Polynesia. Known for its friendly people and its stunningly beautiful lagoon, Anaa is a lovely place to visit. The exterior of the atoll has beautiful coral and a variety of fish life. The interior of the atoll is calm and perfect for a comfortable swim. The community of Tuuhora has a population of around 350 people. Much of the island's current economy is based on the production of copra, but several initiatives have been introduced to create more opportunities for sustainable tourism. These initiatives will hopefully create a more stable population of fish and will create local jobs and opportunities for the community.

Day 3 (OCT 12, 2025): Fakarava, Tuamotu, French Polynesia

The 77 Tuamotus, (the name means “Distant Islands” in Polynesian) comprise the largest chain of coral atolls on earth. The natural flora and fauna of the Oceanic realm is adapted to this environment, and Fakarava’s large lagoon is designated by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. The people of Fakarava farm coconuts for copra on shore and pearls in the lagoons. They also host the travelers who flock here to bask on the beaches and snorkel or dive in the luxuriant coral gardens along the shore. The sleepy towns of Rotoava and Tetamanu offer scant attractions for visitors, except for their distinctive rock lighthouses shaped like stepped pyramids. Aside from snorkeling or beach-basking, some visitors enjoy a visit to a lagoon pearl farm, to see how the large, flat bivalves are coaxed into creating the treasured gems formed by the lustrous nacre inside their shells.

Day 4-6 (OCT 13-15, 2025): Days at Sea

Day 7 (OCT 16, 2025): Adamstown, Pitcairn Island, Pitcairn

This captivating destination holds a special place in history as the final home of the mutineers from the HMS Bounty in 1790. Immerse yourself in the intriguing tales of their journey as you explore the island's rich cultural heritage. A truly remote island with rugged steep cliffs, the island is only 2 miles long and 1 mile wide. The population of the island is only around 50 people, descended from the mutineers and Tahitians. A unique location with a remarkable history, this destination is one not easily reached, or easily forgotten.

Day 8 (OCT 17, 2025): Henderson Island, Pitcairn

Henderson Island is unique in the Pitcairn Island group because it is an elevated coral atoll. With high vertical sides and a flat plateau on top, Henderson can support a lush forest of trees. This tree cover makes it perfect habitat for several species of endemic fauna, such as the Henderson crake, the Henderson fruit dove, the Henderson reed warbler, and the Henderson lorikeet. There are also numerous coconut crabs to be found under the leaf litter of the coconut palms. The world's largest crustacean, these giants can weigh up to 9lbs. and it's estimated that they can live up to 60 years of age. In addition, Henderson has a lovely coral reef fringing its boundaries and offers incredible views of birds soaring overhead, from the deck of our ship.

Day 9 (OCT 18, 2025): Ducie Island, Pitcairn

This uninhabited atoll is a hidden gem in the South Pacific Ocean. With its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and abundant marine life, Ducie Island offers an unparalleled paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Due to its remote location and lack of predators, it boasts a population of nesting seabirds, who will lay their eggs right onto the branches of the low shrubs ashore. Snorkel the nearly intact coral reef surrounding the island. If conditions permit, make a landing at this remote destination to look for tropicbirds, white terns, frigatebirds, noddies, and boobies.

Day 10-11 (OCT 19-20, 2025): Days at Sea

Day 12-13 (OCT 21-22, 2025): Easter Island, Chile

Located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, Easter Island is a remote Polynesian paradise that offers a truly unique and awe-inspiring experience. Famous for its enigmatic Moai statues, this Chilean territory boasts a rich history and cultural significance. Explore the mysterious archaeological sites, marvel at the colossal stone sculptures, and delve into the stories and legends that surround this extraordinary destination.

Day 14-17 (OCT 23-26, 2025): Days at Sea

Day 18 (OCT 27, 2025): Selkirk Island, Chile

Explore the untouched beauty of Alejandro Selkirk Island. This mountainous and densely wooded island offers a rugged coastline with towering cliffs reaching heights of up to 3,280 feet. As an important UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, it is home to critically endangered species such as the Juan Fernandez orchid and the Masafuera rayadito, a bird only slightly studied, but is critically endangered. Immerse yourself in the captivating history of Alexander Selkirk, the real-life sailor who was marooned on this volcanic island. A visit to Alejandro Selkirk Island promises an extraordinary adventure, where you can witness breathtaking landscapes and encounter unique wildlife.

Day 19 (OCT 28, 2025): Isla Robinson Crusoe, Chile

Robinson Crusoe is one of a trio of islands that comprise the Juan Fernandez Archipelago, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve that lies around 375 miles off the coast of Valparaiso. The islands are home to numerous rare and endemic flora and fauna, including the Juan Fernández fur seal, the critically endangered firecrown hummingbird, and three species of petrel: the Juan Fernández, Stejneger’s, and Masatierra. They also are a mecca for diving enthusiasts, renowned for their clear waters and diversity of sea life. Spend your day on Robinson Crusoe snorkeling, kayaking, or trekking a series of trails to scenic lookouts. Sample the local lobster in the town of San Juan Bautista, where most of Juan Fernandez’s inhabitants live.

Day 20 (OCT 29, 2025): Day at Sea

Day 21 (OCT 30, 2025): San Antonio (Santiago), Chile

Arrives 7:00am

This large, modern port serves Chile’s capital, Santiago, a city with Spanish colonial charm and a vivacious spirit. Encircled by the Andes and the Coastal Range, Santiago is centered around the Plaza de Armas, with several of the city’s landmarks: the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral the Palacio de la Real Audencia from 1808, the City Hall and the National Museum of History. North of San Antonio lie the picturesque old port and university town of Valparaíso and the colorful seaside resort of Viña del Mar. In between the coast and the capital are valleys filled with some of Chile’s most famous wineries, all inviting you to come and taste.
