Day 1: Lucerne

Welcome to Switzerland! On arrival into Zurich airport take a train directly to Lucerne and begin exploring this spectacular lakeside historic town. (Overnight Lucerne)

Day 2: Day Trip to Mount Titlis

After breakfast embark on a remarkable day trip involving a short train journey, Gondola ride then a rotating cable car to the top of Mount Titlis, some 3,328m above sea level. Take a stroll or enjoy some lunch with some world beating views before returning to Lucerne where you could use your included Swiss Pass for a short lake cruise. (Overnight Lucerne)

Day 3: Lucerne to Interlaken

ake the train of your choosing through the breath-taking Bernese Oberland to Interlaken, then enjoy all it has to offer whilst looking up and admiring the Swiss Skyline of The Monch, The Eiger and The Jungfrau Mountains. Here again you could take advantage of your included Swiss Pass for a short cruise on either lake Thun or Lake Brienz. (Overnight Interlaken)

Day 4: Day Trip to Jungfraujoch

Today you get to witness one of mankind’s greatest feats of engineering, by travelling through the beautiful villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen to the peak of the Jungfrau mountain. The final rail line cuts through the face of the Eiger Mountain from where you can peak down to the dizzying valley below, before having the opportunity to see the Great Aletsch Glacier: Europe’s largest glacier. On a clear day its possible to see as far as France and Germany, and once you have filled your camera with some amazing photos + pockets with special souvenirs return down the mountain to Interlaken to enjoy your evening.

Day 5: The GoldenPass from Interlaken to Montreux

This morning you take the scenic rail line to Zweisimmen where one of the famous MOB GoldenPass Panoramic trains will be waiting to wind its way through some of Switzerland’s most magnificent scenery to Montreux. Here enjoy a lakeside stroll, or even use your Swiss Pass to see the beautiful Chillion Castle just 3mins away with trains departing every hour. (Overnight Montreux)

Day 6: Montreux to Zermatt

Depart Montreux at a time of your choosing to Zermatt. The journey will involve a change of trains in Visp and weave its way through some of Switzerland’s highest peaks. (Overnight Zermatt)

Day 7: Gornergrat Day Trip

Use your Swiss Pass to ride the Gornergrat Cog Railway, the steep 19th Century line which climbs 1486m in just 33mins. Onboard you get some fantastic vistas of the iconic Matterhorn mountain, and at the top take a stroll through the Alpine nature reserve where you might even catch sight of a Marmot or wild mountain goat. Perhaps enjoy some lunch at the restaurant before taking the cog railway back down to the car free village of Zermatt. Tonight, maybe enjoy some fondue or raclette in one its many local bars and restaurants. (Overnight Zermatt)

Day 8: The Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moritz

Sit back and relax aboard the slowest Express train in the world. There are few journeys that can match this for comfort and world class scenery, perhaps even speak to our Rail Experts about upgrading to The Excellence Class for a truly once in a lifetime experience! (Overnight St Moritz)

Day 9: The Bernina Express

Another World Class day lies ahead as this famous red train crosses snow-covered mountain peaks before heading down into beautiful palm tree lined valleys and crossing the border into Italy. Perhaps enjoy a traditional pizza in the small village of Tirano before heading back north on the same spectacular line. The landscape takes on a different mood in the change of light, and you’ll marvel at highlights such as the Brusio and Landwasser viaducts from the comfort of your seat through the huge panoramic windows. Enjoy your evening in glitzy St Moritz.

Day 10: Depart St Moritz

Check out of your hotel and transfer to Zurich airport for your flight home.
