Additional Information

Day 1 (OCT 17): Athens, Greece

Embark @ 6:00pm

Home to the Acropolis, Athens has quite a reputation to live up to: Named for Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, the city is credited with being the cradle of European civilization and birthplace of democracy.

Day 2 (OCT 18): Syros, Greece

Perfectly blending the traditional with the modern, Syros offers visitors an authentic snapshot of Greek life in the beautiful Cyclades. Come for the laid back pace, stay for the buzzing gastronomy scene. Opa!

Day 3 (OCT 19): Bodrum, Turkey

As the site of the ancient city of Halikarnassus (and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World), Bodrum’s ties to the past are evident everywhere; but there are plenty of modern-day pleasures, too.

Day 4 (OCT 20): Heraklion (Crete), Greece

As the largest city on the isle of Crete, with a history that dates back to the 9th century, Heraklion has seen its share of travelers over the millennia. Discover the many treasures at the Archaeological Museum, regarded as one of the most important museums in Greece. Given that it’s Greece we’re talking about, the food here is naturally outstanding, and comes with a delicious Cretan touch.

Day 5 (OCT 21): Day at Sea

Days 6-7 (OCT 22-23): Alexandria (Cairo), Egypt

Though little remains of the ancient city of Alexandria, as the new one was built on top of it, it remains a gateway to Cairo, the pyramids and the fascinating culture of one of the world's oldest civilizations.

Days 8-9 (OCT 24-25): Days at Sea

Day 10 (OCT 26): Valletta, Malta

Valetta is a living museum of baroque architecture, constructed by the Knights of St. John 500 years ago, yet also a dynamic hub of cultural and commercial activity, welcoming luxury yachts and cruise ships.

Day 11 (OCT 27): Siracusa, Sicily, Italy

As one of the major powers of the Mediterranean world in 5th century BC, Siracusa is known for the archaeological and historical sights (like the tomb of Archimedes and Ear of Dionysus) that define its grand past.

Day 12 (OCT 28): Catania, Sicily, Italy

Mountainous and rugged, Sicily’s highest point is the tip of that infamous and still active Mt. Etna, and as a result Catania is richly layered, having been buried under lava seven times in recorded history.

Days 13-14 (OCT 29-30): Salerno, Italy

Known for its rich history, beautiful coastal views, and significant landmarks, Salerno is a vibrant city with a blend of historical charm and modern amenities.

Day 14 (OCT 31): Rome, Italy

Whether it’s tossing a coin in a fabled fountain or being awestruck by the magnificence of St. Peter’s Basilica and Michelangelo’s masterpieces, Rome seems to live up to its sobriquet, the Eternal City.
