After exploring Anchorage, board the Alaska Railroad for a trip to Seward where you’ll cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park and see wildlife, mountains and glaciers. Continue the journey north to the quaint town of Talkeetna and then to Denali National Park, the crown jewel of Alaska. From there, continue your journey north to Fairbanks.

Day 1: Your Journey Begins in Fairbanks

Arrive in Fairbanks and check in to your hotel. With long summer days, you can begin exploring the city. (Overnight in Fairbanks)

Day 2: Fairbanks

Check out all Fairbanks has to offer. Perhaps take a boat cruise down the Chena River on a historic sternwheeler and learn about Fairbanks unique history and role in the gold rush. (Overnight in Fairbanks)

Day 3: Denali National Park

Depart Fairbanks this morning and enjoy a scenic ride on Alaska Railroad as you travel to Denali. Alaska is known for its diverse terrain and you'll experience much of it as you travel south and see mountains, forests, rivers and open spaces. (Overnight in Denali)

Day 4: Denali National Park

Adventure into the heart of Denali National Park today on a guided tour. Stop at the Polychrome Overlook which is known for its gorgeous kaleidoscope of colors formed by volcanic rock. Be sure to look out for grizzlies, moose and caribou. (Overnight in Denali)

Day 5: Talkeetna

Spend the morning exploring downtown Denali. Later, board Alaska Railroad as you travel South to Talkeetna. This small charming town is known as the gateway to Denali. (Overnight in Talkeetna)

Day 6: Anchorage

Enjoy the day exploring Talkeetna. Take a stroll to the waterfront and marvel at the mighty Susitna River. On a clear day, you can even enjoy views of Denali (also known as Mt. McKinley) and Alaska's Mountains. Later this evening, board the train to Anchorage. (Overnight in Anchorage)

Day 7: Anchorage

Today, you have a full day to discover Anchorage! On your one hour guided tour of the city, you'll discover what makes the city so special. (Overnight in Anchorage)

Day 8: Seward

Today, board the Alaska Railroad for the journey to the port city of Seward. (Overnight in Seward)

Day 9: Kenai Fjords National Park

Today, spend the morning cruising through Kenai Fjords National Park. Cruise past seals, whales and puffins as you explore coastal rainforests, tidewater glaciers and remote Alaskan islands. This evening take Alaska Railroad back to Anchorage. (Overnight in Anchorage)
