Day 1: Calgary
Arrive in Calgary and spend time exploring this cosmopolitan city on your own. That could be going to the top of the Calgary Tower, exploring Prince's Island Park or much more. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 2: Calgary to Lake Louise
Depart Calgary this morning for a full-day transfer concluding in Lake Louise. Journey to Lake Louise, where you will enjoy a spectacular boat cruise on Lake Minnewanka. Continue on to a sightseeing tour including Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Admission to the Banff Gondola included. Your tour ends on arrival in Lake Louise late this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 3: Lake Louise
Enjoy the day with free time to relax or book your own activities at your leisure. With its unique history and picturesque scenery, Lake Louise will not disappoint. Learn about the local wildlife, paddle the lake by canoe, or simply relax amongst the beauty. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 4: Lake Louise to Kamloops
Departing in the morning, travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain hamlet of Lake Louise to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia's Interior. Your journey takes you through ever-changing scenery as you travel between the iconic glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the interior. Today's highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. You will arrive in Kamloops in the evening. Overnight in Kamloops.
Day 5: Kamloops to Jasper
Early in the morning, your journey continues north and east back to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again, you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever nearer to the high peaks of the Continental Divide. Today's highlights include Mount Robson, at 12,972 feet, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, followed by Pyramid Falls and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your rail journey ends this evening on arrival in the resort town of Jasper.
Day 6: Jasper
This morning you are free to explore Jasper on your own. In the afternoon, experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Jasper National Park on a half-day sightseeing tour, where you'll explore stunning landscapes, look for wildlife, and visit iconic landmarks. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 7: Jasper to Banff
Travel from Jasper to Banff via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield, Glacier Skywalk, and Athabasca Falls are among the day's highlights. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn about its geological features. Lunch is provided at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre. Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Banff this afternoon. Overnight in Banff.
Day 8: Banff
Enjoy the day with free time to relax or book your own activities at your leisure. Banff has activities for all, from relaxing in the Banff hot springs, and exploring the bustling town, to outdoor wildlife adventures. Overnight in Banff.
Day 9: Banff to Calgary
In the afternoon, you will have a direct transfer from Banff to Calgary. The approximate duration is two hours. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 10: Calgary
Your journey ends upon check out from your Calgary hotel.
